The Pepera family, from Ghana, has been associated with the making of quality furniture for over 30 years. From their plantations and large factory at Mim in West Africa, furniture products have long been manufactured for both local and worldwide markets.
Alexander Rose was formed in 1995 as the UK selling company for the quality outdoor hardwood furniture manufactured in Ghana. Managing Director, Borge Leth, who had previously been the factory manager in West Africa, started the initial enterprise, and remains integral to the ongoing business.
The UK business started off in modest manner with small shared premises in the Sussex area, and is now established in large purpose built premises at Burgess Hill, West Sussex. The company has enjoyed steady growth from the start and is today one of the major European businesses in the outdoor furniture market.
Over the years our supplier base has extended worldwide to reflect our now diverse product range. However, our links with Ghana continue, with Mim still being a major hardwood supplier to our 2010 hardwood ranges.
Alexander Rose remains a West African family owned business. This continuity and link to the supplier area and people explains the ongoing identity of the business, and its environmental and ethical values.
